Course of Beekeeping (spring). Apiary management.

The Malaga Beekeepers Association organized in the month of April a course about apiary management in the town of Colmenar (Málaga), where is located the Honey Museum. The course is designed either to iniciate the participants into beekeeping or for amateur beekeepers who wants to improve their knowledge, share experiences and get questions solved about their beehives. The teacher is Juan Molina, beekeeper and veterinarian of the Association, whith the help of Fernando de Miguel, beekeeper and president of the Association.

It's been a practical course and the group has visited the apiary. Also part of the talk has taken place at the Museum of Malaga Honey. Students received two books, one about beekeeping, and the other about the diferent varieties of honey produced in Málaga, which are certified under the Seal of Guarantee 'Miel de Málaga'.

This course is part of the annual training program that the Association began five years ago, and they are established as usual every year. This is one of the thirteen activities in the 2015 training program, in which there has been a technical conference beekeeping, management courses, bees pathology, instrumental insemination of queen bee, and breeding queen bees.

La Asociación Malagueña de Apicultores organiza en el mes de abril un curso de manejo apícola en la localidad de Colmenar, donde se encuentra el Museo de la Miel. El curso ha sido diseñado para apicultores que comienzan por primera vez, o que ya han comenzado, y quieren profundizar sus conocimientos y compartir sus experiencias y preguntar y responder cuestiones sobre sus colmenas. El monitor del curso es Juan Molina, apicultor y veterinario de la Asociación, con la ayuda de Fernando de Miguel, apicultor y presidente de la Asociación.

Es un curso práctico y se visitan las colmenas. También se realiza una visita en el Museo de la Miel. Los alumnos reciben un libro sobre apicultura y otro libro sobre los diferentes tipos de mieles producidas en Málaga, las cuales se encuentran certificadas bajo la marca de garantía 'Miel de Málaga'.

El curso forma parte del programa anual de formación que la Asociación comenzó hace cinco años, y que se ha consolidado como habitual cada año. Con este curso, son trece actividades formativas las que se realizan en 2015, en las que se incluye una Jornada Técnica, cursos de manejo, de patología, inseminación instrumental, y cría de reinas.
